Who are the people who ...

... park people in? Or across people's driveways?

... send their sick kids to daycare?

... have joint accounts with their partner on Facebook?

... can't smell their own body odour?

... expect everyone else to move when they walk on a path?

... speak too close and don't realise everyone else is edging backwards

... don't give a wave to say thanks in traffic when you've totally gone out of your way for them?

... drink tonic water? That stuff is ... undrinkable!

... head off for a run in the middle of a scorching hot day?

There are some things that I just don't get. Some of them are listed above. And to assure you that I'm not perfect, I can tell you that I'm the person who: eats chocolates and hopes to lose weight, always {always!} arrives annoyingly early to anything, cuts people off mid-sentence, often forgets to email people back and gets bored within five minutes of doing anything.

Do any of the above resonate with you? Got anything to add?

  1. haha I do the choc thing!

I hate it when people ask how I am then continue to talk about themselves??

  2. ohhhh don't get me started on this topic....i ask these questions every day!! (i also point out their bad behavior to my daughters in hopes they will turn out perfect like their mama.. :) ....)

  4. this list made me laugh, but we'll have to agree to disagree about the tonic water- a soothing G and and T at the end of a hot day is Fabulous!

  5. I agree who are those people. Also Who are the people who park in disabled spots without a permit?
Who are people who have a conversation on a train at the top of their lungs totally oblivious to those around them?
Who are those people who hog both armrests at the cinema or on an aeroplane?
Who makes that horrible noise with their nose and spits on the pavement?

    Yuck

  6. I so get this list - except the tonic water. I love nice G&T after a hot day or before special dinner.

What I would like to add onto this list list is who are those people who throw rubbish out of their cars or leave dirty nappies at the playground.

  7. Hmm.. so with the G&T, does the gin vastly improve the tonic water? I'd be willing to give it a whirl - just once for the name of experimentation.

  8. I'll take my tonic with gin and a twist of lime ;) And the joint Facebook thing? I'm cringeing now but that's how my husband and I started years ago. I don't even remember why but think it was because he didn't really want to be on there.

  9. Sorry, I love tonic water – even on it's own! But I was nodding my head to the others (although the joint facebook thing doesn't bother me).

I would add to the list:
...the people (drivers) who don't stop at pedestrian crossings!
...people who litter when a bin is steps away!

  10. Agree, but I do love tonic with a big splash of gin in it!

I'm not perfect either, I have a bad habit of repeating myself and repeating myself.

  11. Chantelle there is nothing better than an ice cold G&T with lime. I dont mind a good indian tonic water with ice either! ;)

  12. Yes! Who are those people who can't smell their own body odor? Don't get it ... haha! :)

  13. - clients who talk mobile calls in the middle of a treatment / don't switch their phones off.
    - cupboard doors getting left open
    - people who complain that they never have money but either do nothing about getting a job or else are always flitting off overseas on holiday

  14. What about people that blame inanimate objects for things?

  15. i am guilty of not moving aside when walking on the path. well i always try to walk to my left but when i got a pram they can walk around me.

  16. I agree with everything you said. I never get why ppl drink Tonic Water is terriable, no matter what you do to it. Love the post.

  18. Another tonic water fan here.

  19. I'm particularly irritated with the first one, Chantelle: people who cannot park! Drives me crazy.

As for me, I'm the person who stops walking in the middle of the shopping centre for no reason, causing people to almost bump into me. Oops! I'm aware of it, I just have to work on not doing it!

  20. Yes I don't understand why couples have joint FB accounts too! Wth??

  21. Or the people that decide to stop and check their handbag for something, or their phone at te bottom of the escalator, then get annoyed when you bang straight into them!
I'm having loads of issue with old people at supermarkets right now, starting to unload their groceries onto the belt before I've finished loading mine, then pushing their trolley so far down that I have to ask them to move so I can get to the eftpos. What's the hurry?!

  22. I have a couple to add.....

    Who are those people who:
.....climb all over the Sculptures by the Sea
.....storm through a crowd with a giant pram expecting people to move out of their way
.....leave their dogs in the car on a hot day
.....walk incredibly slow through the middle of the city
.....like their own status updates on Facebook

I could go on (and on and on) but I won't! =)

  23. Traci you are spot on with the 'like' their own facebook comments. I dont get it! Also the people who misspell your name when they are replying to your email. How hard is it to look below at the spelling? Also those people who talk through movies. SHUT IT!
But I am guilty of the pram thing. I have a double stroller and I expect people to move aside. I also cut people off mid sentence all the time. I know I am doing it but cant stop!

  24. I'm a tonic junky. But all the stuff, you can have.

I tried to run in the heat and it took me twice as long to do my regular run. Never again. I have to wait for it to get dark these days.

  25. I have noticed that the expecting everyone else to move when walking on path is becoming more and more common. No one knows or uses path etiquette any more. I often wonder how other people manage to get along footpaths/through shopping malls/anywhere you have to walk without getting knocked over because no one is moving out of anyone's way!

When I walk down a path with my boyfriend, we always step aside and walk single file to let others past, but other couples don't do that for us and we are more often than not made to walk on the grass or in the gutter so they can have the whole path.

  26. Now come on, tonic water's not so bad. The rest are!!

  27. who are the people that have no clue of the fabric of society and their place in it? I have no time for people who cannot see their actions and behaviours upset others. And people that eat all the good biscuits ;-)

  28. GIN and tonic water? c'mon Chantelle! ;)

    xx

  29. Dude, I hate tonic water. tastes so bad!

  30. Oh yes, so true! the kids to day care I totally agree with!! That is why I send my eldest one day a week to family day care less likely hood of spreading the germs! or snot! or sneezes! or conjunctivitis! ( I had it twice as an adult because parents send their kids to school/care with it!)
The other one is why don't people help other people struggling with a pram or groceries or luggage! I helped a 80 year old man push his car in the pouring rain years ago because he broke down on a busy road but no one came to help him except me, a 20 year old girl! Seriously people!

  31. Ha I love your list! What about the people that can't navigate a roundabout (at all), the ones that take 15 minutes to get into their car in the carpark when they clearly see you stalking them as there are no other car parks left,or the ones that NEVER say hi to you first when they see you!! I wonder things like this all the time Chantelle. Cassie x

  32. argh!!! the no wave after I've let them in riles me up so bad!!

Mind you I'm the one that can never seem to be on time! :D

    ReplyDelete
  33. Haha. Love it. Who ARE these people!?

    ReplyDelete
  34. People who walk in to a lift before you walk out.

Kids who run up a slide while others are coming down.

People who have more than 12 items going through the express lane at the supermarket.

Waiting in line at the checkout and a person walks straight up to the the cigarette counter and get service right way while your still waiting in line.

    Michelle x

  35. Oh how cringe worthy...I run in the scorching heat (needs must and all that) AND I LOVE tonic water, its so tart it refreshes x 10.. the rest.. nah

oh except now I have one of those two way decals on the back of my car no one can see me when I say thanks s I am fearing I will stop then drive a car without and have to tick that box too!!

  36. Yes! The chocolate thing and the arriving early thing. Oh, and my Hubs drinks tonic water (I don't get that!)
