Ouchie.

Over the weekend I learnt a little lesson. Don't drink and parent. Or actually, don't drink and parent the next day.

I didn't put Lacey in the oven instead of the bed, or anything different from the norm. She probably thought it was quite a treat. We spent the day snuggled on the couch watching Iggle Piggle over, and over again whilst sucking ice blocks.

Recovering from the night before is very different being a parent. There's no staying in bed for as long as you like, or feeling sorry for yourself when you have someone else more important to take care of.

I also learnt that when your body isn't used to a night out, it takes much longer to recover. I haven't been out in around 3 years, and I fear it may take that long to feel back to normal. Or at least 3 days, perhaps.

The Hen's night was a great night. We danced, ate, drank, laughed and had fun. It was a really good time. My first return back into nightlife since birthing Lacey was successful. I made it.

Here's a drunk self portrait from the night. I was trying to smile with my eyes {if you watch Next Top Model you'll know what that looks like}.

Now I have the wedding to look forward to. It's going to be a beautiful {non-alcoholic} day. xx

How did you spend your weekend my friend?

  2. similarly to you in fact.

1st time drinking since i weaned tommy.

1st time in heels for a very long time.

1st time to drink too many cocktails at a gorgeous wedding and then proceed to consume too many champagnes.

I possibly had two hours sleep Saturday night, so yesterday was a right off!

    FUN though!!!

    :)

  3. Yes, partying AND parenting is a tough gig the next morning!! But it sounds like a good day of recovery, and it's wonderful to hear you had such a wonderful time. xoxo

We had a lovely weekend, with a Halloween Party and preschool party to attend, but still plenty of relaxing. Perfect!

  4. BWahaha. I think it was much easier going back to work with a hangover than it is with kids! Looks like you had a fab time - foxy lady!!

  5. I had a hen's night on friday, I actually wasn't too bad on saturday! I even managed to be slightly productive. But then we also went out on saturday night, I didn't drink much but went to bed at 2.30am. Very tired today, it's going to be a looong week.

  8. Oh jesus. That sounds horrendous. I was quite hungover on Saturday and spent all day watching Sex and the City and running to the bathroom. I cannot comprehend adding a child to the equation. Hope you feel better! x

  10. I couldn't imagine being hung over and having to look after little miss zoe - it would definitely be a very bad idea!

We watched horror movies on Halloween, then had friends over for pizza on Sunday night after a day of mad baking. Was a good weekend :)

  12. Thanks guys.

I thought I might get a few lashings today from readers for being a bad parent, but it seems I'm not alone.

I am finally feeling better this morning! That took far too long to recover. What a waste of a couple of days!
